17.03.03 – Request for change comes from a Council

The following pathway is used if the request for a minor change comes from a Council.

The Council will express the need to make a modification, for example the calculation of the QST to be separated from the total allowances under Form 5. In this case, the request for modifications will be sent to the FNQSDO and the FNQSDO will determine the admissibility of the request as well as the human resources required to put the proposed modification into effect (human, financial resources, time, etc.).

This request will then be sent to the Joint Committee, which is responsible for follow up. As part of the follow-up the request submitted must be validated, improved or rejected. Then there will be feedback to the FNQSDO, which is the body responsible to make the changes, if required.

If the requested modification is accepted and (or) improved, the information will be sent to the relevant stakeholders, in this case the Councils. If the request is rejected or deemed to be inapplicable to a given locality, the information will be transmitted to the community from which the request originated.
