In order to avoid having anyone lose any benefits as a result of adoption of the National Child Benefit Supplement, families who are beneficiaries of the employment-assistance program and consisting of one or two adults are entitled to an adjustment of $8.58 for each child between the ages of 12 and 17 inclusively provided they are the first or second child in the family.
THIS ADJUSTMENT DOES NOT APPLY IF THE DEPENDENT CHILD IS PLACED IN A RECEPTION CENTRE OR FOSTER FAMILY, EFFECTIVE THE MONTH OF THE PLACEMENT.
