17.04.02 – Request for change comes from a Tribal or Band Council, the Joint Committee, the MESS or the FNQSDO

The following pathway is used if the request for an intermediate change comes from a Council.

A Council may for example present a new innovative program, which might be applicable to the entire region. In this case, the request for modifications will be sent to the FNQSDO and the FNQSDO will determine the admissibility of the request as well as the human resources required to put the proposed modification into effect (human, financial resources, time, etc.).

This request will then be sent to the Adhering Communities Committee, the function of which committee is to validate, formulate and/or develop modifications.

This request is next sent to the Joint Committee, which committee is responsible for follow up. As part of the follow-up, the request submitted must be validated and/or improved.

Then there will be feedback to the FNQSDO, which is the body responsible to make the modifications, if required. If the requested modification is accepted and (or) improved, the information will be sent to the relevant stakeholders, in this case the Councils and the Joint Committee.
