Post-majority support services
Post-majority support services assist youth aging out of care and young adults formerly in care, from the age of majority up to and including the age of 25. Post-majority support services are not intended to replace other programs. For this reason, amounts received as part of this program are excluded from the calculation to determine the eligibility of Income Security Program clients. They are also excluded when they are received in the course of assistance
Amounts paid under Jordan’s Principle
The goal of Jordan’s Principle is to ensure all First Nations children in Canada have timely access to the goods, services and supports they need. As such, payments made under Jordan’s Principle for children to receive medical treatment outside of their community or for other medical reasons are excluded from the calculation of the Income Security Program allowance.
