Requests for a milk formula benefit are granted immediately upon receipt of the application. Coverage of the purchase in a pharmacy of concentrated liquid MILK FORMULAS is subject to the following terms and conditions:

AMOUNTS to be paid BY THE Income Assistance Program INDIVIDUAL for the purchase of powdered milk formulas/month :
The terms and conditions of application remain the same as for preparations in liquid concentrate.
With respect to authorized milk formulas and quantities depending on the age of the child, the Framework Policy Program shall reimburse any surplus as per the following terms and conditions.

A written certificate from a doctor confirming the need for assistance and the original invoice for each purchase are required.

Reimbursement terms:
- Reimbursement must be made upon presentation of the invoice;
- For a child aged 9 to 11 months, a written certificate from a doctor confirming the need is required;
- The special need is reimbursed directly to the client, unless an agreement already exists between the Band Council and the pharmacy;
- The special need cannot be granted simultaneously with the breastfeeding benefit (except for the month in which the change in feeding methods occurs); and
- The child of a student’s spouse does not qualify for this benefit.
Joint custody:
In the case of joint custody where both parents are recipients, the special benefit may be paid to each parent. However, the maximum quantity of milk, per child, that can be purchased remains the same.
