The income associated with a Chief or Councillor position is reportable for each month during which it is earned.
The portion of income paid as an allowance to cover the expenses that are inherent to this position is not reportable to the extent that the allowance does not exceed half the base salary associated with the position. Any surpluses are considered income.
The exclusion of work income applies in this case.
