The SOCIO-OCCUPATIONAL PROFILE involves factors relevant to employability: age, education, work experience and psycho-social adjustment and integration.
AGE: this is a factor that can influence the client's employability.
EDUCATION: the years of general (primary, secondary, college, university) and occupational (industrial arts education, occupational CEGEP, university) schooling completed for which the person obtained a diploma, a certificate or an equivalent recognized by the educational system and the labour market. However, particularly with respect to occupational training, it is important to ensure that this training is still relevant, that is, that it meets the current requirements of the labour market.
WORK EXPERIENCE: consideration must be given to all previous work experience (paid or unpaid, such as volunteer work) in which the person developed occupational skills, taking into account factors such as a unique work experience, a prolonged absence from the labour market and an inability to transfer experience.
PSYCHO-SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT AND INTEGRATION: factors associated with the person's psycho-social adjustment and integration skills should also be taken into account to varying degrees. These factors are, for example:
- family status;
- type of housing (e.g. adapted residence, residential and long-term care centre, family-type resource (foster home), intermediate resource supervised apartment);
- learning ability;
- interpersonal relationship skills;
- behavioural problems;
- level of social independence (e.g. illiteracy, means of transportation that can be used).
